The cimbasso, a brass instrument which was developed in Italy in the mid 1800s, has long been relegated to a supporting role in opera orchestras or motion picture soundtracks. Now, for the first time in its history, this unique instrument is featured performing at the front of an ensemble. The beautiful sounds of the cimbasso are showcased in performances of romantic music from its home country, Italy. For this, his debut solo recording, Andrew is backed by ten different musicians and lush instrumental arrangements by some of New York’s top arrangers. Each of the musical selections have been specially arranged for Andrew Bove and this recording.
